History & tradition
Modern Korea; zero-waste wrapping guides (2010s)
Tying the leftover corners into a twisted handle turns a bottle wrap into something you can carry, the same idea as the old cloth bundle carried by its knot. This form was popularised by Greenpeace Korea's 2019 plastic-free holiday-wrapping guide, which recalled that grandmothers once wrapped holiday food in bojagi. It is a modern, practical wrap rather than a documented historical one.
Shared in zero-waste and holiday-gift guides; handle knots are a named item in bottle lessons.
