History & tradition
Joseon to mid-20th century; ordinary households
Triangles appear when small square scraps are cut on the diagonal, and many jogakbo mix them into square blocks. The name is a classification label from a 2005 design study of 90 jogakbo photographs, not a term the makers used. Pieces built mainly of triangles are a smaller group than grid pieces.
