History & tradition
Joseon households; jogakbo
In patchwork 조각보 the seams themselves make the pattern: triangles, rectangles and trapezoids of leftover cloth. Mixing many colours was also thought to ward off misfortune.
Jogakbo geometry has inspired modern designers and artists in Korea and abroad.
