History & tradition
Joseon to mid-20th century; ordinary households
Saekdong (색동) are the multicoloured stripes known from children's jacket sleeves, and the same bright offcuts turned up in patchwork. The name is a classification label from a 2005 design study of 90 jogakbo photographs, not a term the makers used. It was listed but not analysed.
