Joseon court painting, spreading to folk crafts
The ten longevity symbols (sun, mountains, rocks, water, clouds, pine, the 불로초 herb, turtle, crane, deer) were a favourite of Joseon court painters; the king gave 십장생 screens as New Year gifts. The set also appears on painted bojagi (그림보).
Painted 십장생 bojagi are displayed at the Seoul Museum of Craft Art.
